Hybrid Air Purifiers

If you've read the introduction to air purifiers you'll recall that there are essentially 5 different types of air purifier technology - 1 HEPA air purifier,2UV air purifiers, 3 ozone air purifiers, 4 negative air ionizers and 5 gas phased (activated carbon) air purifier.

You will recall that each air purifier technology has its own pros and cons. There's no one technology that is able to filter out ALL the air pollutants such as pollen, dusts, bacteria, viruses, smoke and volatile gases, etc.

A Hybrid Air Purifier is one that combines 2 or more of these different air purifying technology into a single unit (usually a portable/room unit).

For example, a HEPA air purifier or a Negative Air Ionizer may include a germicidal UV lamp to kill viruses. A gas phased filter may include a HEPA filter to remove the air-borned particles.

The more expensive purifiers may even include up to 3 types of technology - HEPA, negative ions and UV lamps.

Confused about which type of air purifier to buy? This section will give you an over-view of the 5 different types of air purifiers and how to choose which one suits you best

Air Quality

In the last several years, a growing body of scientific evidence has indicated that the air within homes and other buildings can be more seriously polluted than the outdoor air in even the largest and most industrialized cities.

Negative Ions and Ionizers

Studies and research on health benefits of negative ions goes a long way back in the 18th century.
